Archbishop Lifts Mass Dispensation
Archbishop Thompson has lifted the Mass dispensation beginning June 11th, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This weekend and forward, all Catholics will be expected to attend Mass. Welcome back to all Catholics who have been away from Mass due to the pandemic! We are grateful to have you back with the community of faith! The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith… this should cause us always to return each and every time to the Eucharist with great Joy! More than a dispensation being lifted is the unfathomable gift of coming to receive the Holy Eucharist - the body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ!

New COVID Mass Protocol
With the recent lifting of the Dispensation to attend Mass from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, we have some new COVID Mass Protocol as we enter into this “new normal.” As stated from the Archdiocese, except for the unique situations as described in Archbishop Thompson’s message (click here for full statement from Archbishop), those who are otherwise healthy are obliged to return to Sunday Mass starting this Sunday, June 13.
This new protocol includes the following:
This new protocol includes the following:
- We have taken down the ropes and the entire church is open for seating per the guidance from the City of Indianapolis as well as the CDC to be open at 100% capacity.
- We will return to two communion lines with all processing toward the front of the church to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Greeters will no longer release pews for communion.
- There will be no Precious Blood reception.
- While masks are no longer mandated, they are encouraged during Mass by the Archbishop.
- If you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID or other illnesses, please stay home. We will continue to livestream Sunday 10:30am Mass on Facebook for those unable to join in person.
