Dear Friends,
Welcome to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church! We are located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis at 126 W Georgia Street in Indianapolis, IN (at the corner of Capitol Ave and Georgia Street- right across the street from the Convention Center). Here at St. John we are a diverse community that has heritage deeply rooted in the rich history of St. John’s, which was founded in 1837. We are also a parish that is alive and full of hope that is growing abundantly. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we are nourished in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, by Word and Sacrament, and so go out to proclaim God’s Love in our homes, in our places of work, in our neighborhoods and in our city. St. John’s serves a wide range of groups that include: traditional parishioners, families, young adults, college students, daily Mass goers, visitors to the city, and our brothers and sisters in need both locally and abroad.
