Peace be with you!  I invite you to join me from your homes to pray and fast for peaceful solutions to the injustices happening across the world and now right here in our city these days!   We are initiating a 72 hour (Friday 7 am – Monday 7 am) prayer vigil with holy hours dedicated to praying the Novena of Corpus Christi.  The Solemnity of Corpus Christi is one week from Sunday.

Please sign up for a holy hour to be prayed in your home individually or with family members at the following link: https://signup.com/go/GiCETrC.

During the Holy Hour you select, please pray from your home the following:

+ Corpus Christi Novena with the following intentions:

    Novena Link: https://www.praymorenovenas.com/corpus-christi-novena
    1.  For Peaceful resolutions to the grave injustice of racial discrimination in our nation and particularly for the changing of hearts and minds to live more fully the Great Commandment of Loving our neighbor as ourselves.
    2.  For Peaceful resolutions to the grave injustice of returning violence with violence through the killing of other innocent people, destruction of private and public properties and burning of churches.
    3. For a greater love for Jesus Christ and His Holy Church via the Most Holy Eucharist and for multitudes to return to God and Church who may not know Him, have fallen away from God or His Church and for those who are lukewarm in relationship to the Holy Trinity and/or Holy Mother Church.
+ The rosary asking Our Blessed Mother Mary to intercede for us
    + Divine Mercy Chaplet
+ And any other prayer that you deem helpful

I also encourage everyone to take on an additional fast this weekend!  Prayer and Fasting are the two great weapons we have against the face of evil.

This weekend is the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity.   The answers to our modern day crisis, as all crisis of all times and places, is found in Divine Relationship with the Trinity: God the Father and Creator, Jesus Christ His Son and Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit and Sanctifier.  It seems now more than ever we and our nation need to become a new creation, we and our nation need to be Redeemed and we and our nation need to be Sanctified!

Please spread the news broadly so we can encourage thousands of people to storm heaven!

Please sign up for a holy hour to be prayed in your home individually or with family members at the following link: https://signup.com/go/GiCETrC.

As many of you know, the riots last weekend impacted St. John’s with a car being burned in our parking lot, graffiti spray painted on the wall of the parking lot and a dumpster in our alley being set on fire.   We are grateful that it wasn’t worse as so many downtown businesses were ravaged.  We are working closely with the Archdiocese to prep for this weekend and will have a surveillance trailer in our parking lot with cameras watching the property 24/7. We will also have men helping me keep vigil on the Church, Rectory and Property throughout the weekend.

Please pray for us and all the churches, businesses and homes in the city and most especially for all people to remain safe!  Your prayers and fasting will make a difference!

May God’s Peace and Justice Reign,
    Father Rick Nagel
