Young Adult Socials
Join the young adult and college student community (ages 18-35) for faith, fellowship and fun! We have socials once a month that follow the 7pm Sunday evening Mass at St. John's and other social activities throughout the year for the young adult community. Below are some upcoming events:
Monthly Young Adult Socials Following 7pm Mass
Join the young adult and college student community for a monthly Sunday social usually following the 7pm Mass at St. John's. This is a great way to meet others in the community and join in for some faith, fellowship and fun!
NEXT SOCIAL: OKTOBERFEST
Sunday, October 8 following 7pm Mass
The Oktoberfest festival in Munich, Germany, is a staple of Bavarian culture and has been held since the year 1810. More than 7 million people attend the celebration. St. John’s also has German roots! St. John’s was established in 1837 by German immigrants. In solidarity with our German heritage, St. John's will host our own Oktoberfest Young Adult Social on Sunday, October 8th, following the 7pm Mass. While there likely won't be millions of global visitors (we don't think), there will be many of the trappings of an authentic festival: polka lessons and dancing, traditional German food, good beer, and great company. All young adults ages 18-35 are welcome. Prost!
Along the same lines of celebrating our German roots, we will be promoting our annual Christkindl Village (German for Christ Child Village) that will be the third weekend in December. All who come to the Oktoberfest will receive a free Christkindl Beer or Wine Mug. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about how you can volunteer at the Christkindl Village. The St. Sebastian Sports Arena will be staffed and led by St. John Young Adult Volunteers.
